ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Michael and Cathy Parson will finally get their big wedding.

They had to cancel two wedding dates when his Marine unit was deployed to Iraq twice in the past two years. Instead of the fancy wedding that had been dreaming of, they settled for a last-minute civil ceremony.

That was on Christmas Eve 2003, just before Parson's unit was sent to Iraq. Now, the couple will get to repeat their vows in style - and for free.

They've won a wedding contest sponsored by the Nuptial Network of Greater Rochester, N.Y. They're getting a $20,000 wedding and reception next January.

The contest was open to people who had served in Iraq. Cathy Parson tells the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle her wedding dress has been ready for two years.
